My Go-To AI API Proxy Services: A Curated Roundup

There's no shortage of AI API proxy services out there — the market is flooded with options and it's hard to know what's worth your time. Here's a list of the services my friends run and that I personally use (this is a genuine recommendation post, no sponsored content whatsoever).

What Is an AI API Proxy?

An AI API proxy (sometimes called a "relay" or "middleware") is a service that makes it easier for developers and users to access various AI model APIs. It typically solves the following problems:

  • Network access: Some AI services are not directly accessible in China
  • Cost savings: Aggregated purchasing helps reduce per-call API costs
  • Unified interface: One API key to access multiple models — no need to register separately for each
  • Pay-as-you-go: No monthly subscriptions; you only pay for what you use

The Proxies I Use

1️⃣ AI Image & Video Generation

These proxies are built for creative AI workflows — think generating images with Midjourney, DALL-E, or Stable Diffusion, or producing videos with Sora and Runway.

APIMart (recommended by 书虫)

  • Website: apimart.ai
  • Recommended by: 书虫 @APIMart_
  • Highlights: Supports a wide range of model APIs including image and video generation, at competitive prices
  • Best for: Creators who need to generate images or videos at scale

Yunwu AI

  • Website: yunwu.ai
  • Highlights: Aggregates multiple AI models with support for image and video generation APIs
  • Best for: Users who need access to a variety of creative AI models

2️⃣ Coding & Development

These proxies are tailored for programming use cases — great for use inside AI coding tools like Cursor, Windsurf, and Claude Code.

AiGoCode (recommended by 涛哥)

  • Website: aigocode.com
  • Recommended by: 涛哥 @sitinme
  • Highlights: Purpose-built API relay for coding workflows, reliable and easy to use
  • Best for: Day-to-day software development

PipeLLM (recommended by c大)

  • Website: pipellm.ai
  • Recommended by: c大 @Cydiar404
  • Highlights: Multi-model switching support, well-suited for developers in their daily workflow
  • Best for: Developers who frequently switch between models

3️⃣ Other Honorable Mentions

Beyond what I use personally, here are a few others with a solid community reputation:

AI奶爸Hub

  • Website: ainaibahub.com
  • Recommended by: AI奶爸 @zstmfhy
  • Highlights: Focused on API access for the Codex model family

DGrid AI

  • Website: dgrid.ai
  • X: @dgrid_ai
  • Highlights: A platform for AI compute resources and API services

oFox AI (recommended by ofox)

  • Website: ofox.ai
  • X: @ooffooxx
  • Highlights: Clean and easy to use, supports APIs for a range of mainstream models

FluxNode (recommended by Neo)

  • Website: fluxnode.org
  • Recommended by: Neo, creator of Agent Reach
  • Highlights: Focused on agent and coding use cases

How to Choose

When picking an API proxy, here are the key things to consider:

  1. Use case: For image/video generation, go with APIMart or Yunwu AI; for coding, try AiGoCode or PipeLLM
  2. Reliability: Prioritize services recommended by people you trust and those with a proven track record
  3. Pricing: Compare API rates across providers and choose based on your usage patterns
  4. Latency: If responsiveness matters for your workflow, run some tests before committing
  5. Model coverage: Make sure the service supports the specific models you need

Tips

  • Sign up for 2–3 services at once so you always have a backup
  • Don't top up a large amount right away — start small and test things out first
  • Follow each provider on X; they frequently run promotional deals
  • For coding, the easiest setup is to configure the proxy API directly inside Cursor or Windsurf
